Marianne Morea's debut novella, Hunters Blood, is a slim book that moves like lightning.
Her main character, Lily, is engaging, tough and embed with supernatural powers that make her an exceptional hunter of paranormal creatures. After a hunt goes horribly awry, she finds herself indebted to the alluring and enigmatic Sean Leighton, who's got secrets and powers of his own. Thrust together because of political maneuverings in the supernatural realm, they find their destinies inextricably linked--all to the delight of the reader.
Morea pulls her charming and engaging characters into each other's paths quickly, developing their relationship with swift assurance that somehow doesn't skimp on humor, sexual tension or drama. The scene describing the sexual realization of their relationship is simply and beautifully rendered: it's straight forward and hot.
By the close, several well-tailored plotlines approach a climax that leaves readers hungry for more.
It's a great, fun book by someone who studied her genre and writes like a seasoned pro. I predict we're going to see a lot more from Marianne Morea--and we readers of paranormal romance are luckier for it!
